This is our collaboration with The Four Horsemen, the legendary Brooklyn restaurant co-owned by LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy. A longtime supporter of MURI, the restaurant is known for its world-class wine list curated by the late Beverage Director, Justin Chearno.
We both wanted to create a bottle that was more ‘wine-adjacent’ than our typical blends as Justin wanted to match the excellent guest experience for those note drinking alcohol. The end result was balanced, complex, and deeply personal, made for pairing with the restaurant’s acclaimed food while offering non-drinkers the same sense of occasion.
A silky, still red made from Stevnsbær sour cherry wine and ice-clarified tomato water. Lacto-fermented beetroot is then blended in to deepen the savory complexity and a kefir infused with bay leaf and green peppercorn for herbal spice and structure. The glorious result of MURI x The Four Horsemen is a ripe red fruity taste upfront with balanced acidity and a luxurious texture, the blend is given intricate savouriness from salty beetroot, and has a lightly spicy finish that makes it delicately refreshing and addictive.

Food Pairing: Pair with duck, root vegetables, Roasted red meats, Ragu, Toulouse sausage with mashed potatoes and prunes that is on the menu at the Four Horsemen from time to time.
